Bilal Barakat

Educated at L’École d’Architecture Val de Seine in Paris, France, Bilal studied under the famed architect Rodo Tisnado of Architectural Studios in Paris.  He carefully paid close attention to the hard work needed to succeed.  While living in Paris, he immersed himself in the rich historical and cosmopolitan culture.

Bilal began his career as an architect in Paris upon finishing graduate school. He then moved to Miami where he began incorporating interior design into his work.  After a few years in Miami, he and his wife leapt to New York City where he continued to work on high-end projects.  He quickly moved up to become a senior designer managing large scale budgeted projects all over the world.

“An architect will design the exterior bones of a house. An interior designer will design the heart and help the house come alive. With over a decade of experience in both disciplines, I can marry the structure and the interior space to harmoniously thrive.”

Bilal’s portfolio includes architecture, high-end interior architecture, interior yacht designs, and high-end custom furniture. He has worked on many projects with various architects and designers from all over the United States and France.   Many clients seek out Bilal for his edgy, modern designs as well as for his unique international perspective and his ability to stay two steps ahead of the design world.

“Whether it means researching new materials like exotic woods from Africa or finding new artisans to make my designs come alive, I always try to bring something new and unique to every single project so that it coincides in the space beautifully.”

When designing a space Bilal says, “I listen to the feeling of the environment around the subject.  I want the space to feel as if it’s one.  For example, with a house, I want the structure to feel like it’s a part of the surrounding vegetation.  Balanced.  And I want the clients to feel the inspiration when they step into the room or in front of the house, experiencing the same energy that I first felt from the surroundings.
